1. Shaving cream
I don't know about you but my almost 4 year old LOVES messy things and "cleaning." Sounds like an oxymoron but did you ever clean your desk in school with shaving cream? That was always such a treat! Shaving cream is cheap so it is right up my alley. We decided to squirt a little on his picnic table that had gotten dirty and covered in sap. I hosed it off before I squirted a good amount of the shaving cream and he thought it was pretty cool. See the joy on his face (and that he needs a haircut but refuses *insert eyeroll*)
2. Cornstarch Slime
Oooey goooey cornstarch slime is a lot of fun. We used half a container of cornstarch, added a little bit of water and green food coloring. We brought a spoon to mix but it was a lot more fun to do with our hands. We added some shaving cream too just for fun.
3. Spaghetti
This is an old picture but cooked spaghetti in a bucket is good for even little ones that put everything in their mouths because they can munch on the noodles. 4. Orbeez or water beads
Follow the directions according to your package but all you have to do is add a little water. Oh, and wait! This is something you have to think about ahead of time so they can expand. These are really fun to play with. I even like to!
5. Sticky Contact paper
You can use just about anything you have around the house. I cut a piece of clear contact paper, peeled the backing and taped it to the sliding glass door with the sticky side out. We used tissue paper squares to stick on but you could use, pom poms, ribbon, paper, yarn, cereal etc.
What sensory activities do your little ones like? Stay tuned for some more ideas!
