5 Breakfast Biscuit Recipes Kids Can Make

You could make your own biscuits....or you could open a can of them in ten seconds. Am I the only one that peels the corner of the label where I’m told then has to bang it on the counter a million times to get the can to pop?! These canned biscuit recipes are so fast and easy. They are perfect for kids to make. And they are all delicious. As far as the donuts go, they are only good for kids to decorate since you’ll be using hot oil but decorating is the best part. My mouth is watering as I type these out. Try one or try them all!

1. Cherry Cream Cheese Danish
When I was pregnant, I bought a danish almost every day. Had I known how easy it would be to make these, I would have! You only need a few ingredients so they are cost effective too.

You’ll need:
Can of cherry pie filling
Biscuits - I used jumbo flaky Aldi brand
Cream cheese

For the glaze drizzle (optional):
powdered sugar
vanilla
water
To Make:
Preheat oven according to the package of biscuits. Flatten the biscuits out a bit and put them on a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Put a spoonful (or more) of cream cheese in the center of each biscuit. Top with a spoonful or two of cherries. Bake about 15 minutes or according to the directions. They will get golden brown on the outside. To make the glaze, put half a cup of powdered sugar in a bowl. Add a teaspoon of vanilla and slowly add water while mixing until you have a sugary drizzly glaze. Take a spoonful and drizzle it over the top of each danish in a back and forth motion.

2. Ham and Cheese Biscuits
Delicious and great to make on a Sunday for on the go breakfasts to bring to work during the week. They would also be good as lunch or dinner too.

You'll Need:
Biscuits - I used jumbo flaky Aldi brand
mild cheddar - you can use slices or I used cubes of cheese from Aldi
Ham - any kind will do
To Make:
Preheat oven according to the package of biscuits. Cut your biscuits in half almost all the way through. Peel up the top and add your ham and cheese. Close it back up and cook in the oven about 15 minutes or per directions on your package. They will be golden brown on the top with cheesy goodness oozing out.

3. Cheater Monkey Muffins
I'm pretty sure the first and only time I made monkey bread was in home economics in school but it was really good. We made it the traditional way in the bundt pan. These are muffins made the cheater easy way, take minutes and they are still very tasty.

You'll Need:

Biscuits - I used jumbo flaky Aldi brand
1/2 stick of melted butter in a bowl
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
To Make:
Preheat oven according to the package of biscuits. Cut the biscuits in quarters then roll each quarter into a ball. Spray your muffin tin with cooking spray. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together - I promise this is the perfect cinnamon to sugar ratio! Dip each ball of biscuit dough into the melted butter then roll around in the sugar mix to coat. Place four in each well. Bake about 15 minutes or until deliciously golden brown. Optional: Add a drizzle of melted semi-sweet chocolate chips.

4. Cinnamon Twist Baked Donuts
Easy peasy and delicious fluffy donuts. The buttery cinnamon sugar topping will melt in your mouth.

You'll Need:
Biscuits - I used jumbo flaky Aldi brand
1/2 stick melted butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
To Make:
Preheat oven according to the package of biscuits. Stretch each biscuit out then twist and pinch in the middle. Make your cinnamon sugar mix by combining in a bowl. Dip each twist into the butter then the sugar mix and place on an aluminum foil lined baking sheet. Bake about 15 minutes or until puffy and golden brown.

5. Chocolate Glazed Donuts
Umm. Yum! I hate frying. I am no good at it but I managed to pull this off. Surprisingly this did not take long at all.

You'll Need:
Biscuits - I used jumbo flaky Aldi brand
Oil deep enough for the donuts to float on in a pan

For the chocolate glaze:

Semi-sweet chocolate chips melted with a bit of coconut oil or vegetable oil
To Make:
Heat your oil in a pan deep enough for the donuts to float on. It shouldn't be spattering everywhere. Poke a hole in each in the center of each biscuit to get a donut shape. Add to the oil. You'll want to cook each side about 2-3 minutes. They brown fast so be careful! Use tongs to flip and remove from the oil. Place on a few layers of paper towels. Melt your semi-sweet chocolate chips in a bowl in the microwave. I add a tiny bit of vegetable oil or coconut oil to make it creamy. Submerge the tops of each donut in the chocolate glaze and place on a plate. Leave as is or put toppings on like sprinkles or shredded coconut.
