Turn Milk into Plastic Science Experiment for kids

Cole was asking for an experiment all day so we found this and thought we’d try to make our first video. I had NEVER heard of this experiment so I was intrigued and you probably have everything on hand already. You can see it on our Facebook page @fortheloveofcole Here. Follow us there!! Watch the video but here are the directions.

You will need:

1 cup of milk

4 Tbsp vinegar

Food coloring (optional)

Cookie cutter

To make:

Heat the milk in the microwave for a minute and a half.  Add the vinegar. Mix it for one minute. It will start to curdle. Strain it. Pat it with paper towels to remove excess liquid. Add food coloring if you’d like, and fold it in. Pat it with paper towels again. Cut out a shape using a cookie cutter. Let it dry for up to two days until hard. So cool it turns into plastic! I’ll post the results on Instagram and Facebook so be sure to follow us there!

Have you ever tried this? Comment below. I’d love to know if you give it a try!
