5 Kids Activities Using Candy Corn

Cole HAD to get a bag of candy corn at the store last week because "it is his favorite." He actually doesn't like it. HAHA! So we found some fun things to do with candy corn in case you have it around your house because no one likes it. Just kidding. I'm sure some people do!

1. Candy Corn Science experiment
What will dissolve candy corn? Take a guess. We used three cups and labeled them water, vinegar and oil. You could easily try other solutions too! We poured enough to fill each cup about half full then plopped one candy corn in each one. After about ten minutes you can see the ones in the cup full of water and vinegar started dissolving but nothing happened to the one in the oil. We took them out and placed on the paper to get a better look.

2. Candy corn counting
You can easily find free printables online but we are out of printer ink so I just drew some triangles in sharpie. Cole practiced writing his name below where I wrote it too. I guess permanent marker makes it more exciting! You could draw a letter or shape and have the child glue candy corns to the paper.

3. Candy corn monsters and flowers
Using a glue stick, we glued our candy corn like teeth then drew a monster around them. We also tried flowers then drew stems and leaves.

4. Candy Corn Boats - how many will it take to sink?
Using aluminum foil squares, fold up the edges and float them in a bucket of water. Add candy corns and watch them float around. See how many candies it will take to sink the boat!

5. Candy corn construction
Try to build using toothpicks and candy corn. You have to be gentle with the candy corn or they'll break. We learned this the hard way.
