Does the thought of making your own play dough seem like a lot of work? You can make ALL of these recipes in under 5 minutes with NO COOKING. They are all super easy and kid friendly to make. I do not like recipes that require a lot of ingredients so these are the best of the best and the easiest of the easiest - EPIC. Kids will have so much fun making and playing with all of these. I recommend storing in an air tight tupperware container. I get mine at Dollar Tree for $1. They are big enough to play in too. All of these recipes can be easily doubled or halved for small batches. THey all make about 2 cups.
1. Easiest Play Dough Recipe EVER
You'll need:
2 cups of flour
1 cup of flour
1 cup of water
Food Coloring (optional)
Mix it all together then add some food coloring if you'd like for colors. We just folded the color in and kept kneading. This makes a pretty big batch in under 5 minutes! Keep it in an airtight container.
2. Easy Essential Oil Play Dough
Follow the above recipe for Easiest Play Dough Recipe EVER.
You'll need:
2 cups of flour
1 cup of flour
1 cup of water
Food Coloring (optional)
Essential Oil
Mix it all together then add some food coloring if you'd like for colors. We just folded the color in and kept kneading. Add about 5 drops (10 if your kids are doing it) essential oil. We used grapefruit because the orange color reminded me of grapefruit. Other awesome scents you could use are: lavender, vanilla, lemon, mint or whatever you have on hand! Tea tree oil doesn't smell great but is thought to have antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties for little hands. Keep it in an airtight container.
3. Super Yummy Edible Peanut Butter Play Dough
I'll admit it - I tried this one! It was really good. I had to remove it from Cole's hands or he would have eaten the whole thing! Obviously, DO NOT make this for peanut allergy sufferers! It only requires 3 ingredients and makes a big batch.
You'll need:
1 cup of peanut butter
1 cup of corn startch
1 cup of powdered sugar
Mix it in a bowl as best you can. Then you'll have to knead it until it is a dough like consistency. We used some cookie cutters and shaped the dough but Cole did A LOT of eating the dough. Keep it in an airtight container.
4. Quick and Easy Cloud Dough - 2 ingredients!
You'll Need:
1 cup hair conditioner
2 cups corn starch
Food coloring (optional)
Mix with a spoon at first then knead with your hands. Keep you conditioner on hand because you may need to add some more (I had to add a few extra squirts) Then you can fold in some food coloring if you want. Keep it in an airtight container.
5. Moon Sand - 2 ingredients
2 cups of flour
1/4 cup baby oil
Mix the ingredients well in a bowl. Use sand toys to play or play dough toys. It's really fluffy and soft. Store in an airtight container.
